Regardless of your age, it is imperative to undergo regular eye examinations in order to prevent and detect eye disease. The human eye is constantly changing from year to year. Certain conditions, including glaucoma, do not manifest any symptoms until permanent damage has been done. According to The National Institutes of Health, approximately 2.3 million people in the United States suffer from glaucoma, while an additional 2 million people have glaucoma but are unaware of their condition. Detecting these diseases early allows for more flexible treatment options and reduces the risk of further harm to the eye.
