Dr. Leroy Ekeh is a cataract, glaucoma, and comprehensive ophthalmologist and surgeon who brings his passion for patient-centered eye care back home to Texas. A Houston native, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and returned to Houston to complete his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Ekeh moved north to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, where he completed his residency in ophthalmology. He then pursued advanced ophthalmic surgical training through a Glaucoma Fellowship at Duke Eye Center in Durham, NC.
Dr. Ekeh joins Texan Eye as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. His services include comprehensive eye care, cataract surgery, and glaucoma management. Glaucoma services encompass medical therapy, laser procedures as alternatives to daily eye drops, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and traditional filtering surgeries.
Dr. Ekeh has a particular interest in surgical innovation and personalized glaucoma care, focusing on tailoring treatment to each patient’s needs and improving long-term visual outcomes. He values building lasting relationships with his patients and strives to provide compassionate, thorough, and cutting-edge ophthalmic care.
