Dr. Ricardo Salinas is a Texas native from San Antonio. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and obtained a Bachelors in Biology. He returned to San Antonio and completed medical school at the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. Dr Salinas finished his ophthalmology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he was also awarded “Trainee of the Year” in his final year of residency.
He continued ophthalmic surgical training, completing a fellowship in glaucoma surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
Dr. Salinas joins Texan Eye as a cataract and glaucoma surgeon. Services include comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. Glaucoma services include medical therapy; alternative treatment to glaucoma eye drops (clinic-based laser and sustained drug release medication); minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS); and traditional filtering surgery.
